Steps To Opportunities, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering children, youth, adults, and families by creating pathways to opportunity, stability, and lifelong success. Founded in April 2023 by Maxine Diggs, an experienced community leader with more than 30 years of service in South Los Angeles, Watts, Compton, and surrounding communities, the organization was established to address the social, educational, and economic barriers that prevent individuals and families from reaching their full potential.
At Steps To Opportunities, we believe that every person deserves access to the resources, support, and guidance needed to build a brighter future. Through comprehensive, community-based programs, we provide mentoring, life skills development, housing navigation, workforce readiness, financial literacy, educational support, family strengthening, and connections to critical health and human services. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are while equipping them with the tools to become self-sufficient and thrive.
Our vision is to build communities where opportunity is accessible to everyone and where children, youth, families, and older adults are empowered to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and create lasting success.
